Applegate Farms Organic Chicken & Apple Sausage – Review

These sausages have been a great quick dinner go to for us, when we have spent the afternoon doing something fun and not worrying about what was for dinner!  Perfect for busy summer evenings. They are so good!  They are fully cooked and just need to be heated.  We have had them so many different ways, even just sliced and heated in a pan with a little water.  You need to do nothing to help them with flavor.  They have just the right smoky and sweet taste.  Applegate Farms has many other flavor combinations, such as Sweet Italian, Spinach and Feta and Fire Roasted Red Pepper.  We have tried all the dairy-free options and they are all good, but the Chicken & Apple is our favorite!

Applegate Farms has a recipe listed on their site that incorporates these sausages.  I have not tried it but it sounds really good.  Again, anything you put with them will work.  We usually steam a side of veggies and call it done.  Here is another recipe using a whole wheat pasta.  We typically like a brown rice pasta that could easily be substituted here.

Even though there is not much thought needed to prepare dinner when using these, you know the ingredients listed are quality and organic.  They are simply, Organic Chicken, Organic Dried Apples, Sodium Lactate (From Beets), Contains Less Than 2% Of The Following:  Sea Salt, Organic Apple Juice Concentrate, Organic Spices, Organic Garlic.

Try these next time you are contemplating making a run through a fast food window on a busy weeknight!!  I promise you will love them.  If you have a great recipe you have used them in and would like to share, please leave us a comment!
