Hyland’s Nighttime Cold ‘n Cough 4 Kids – Review

Kids have such a hard time sleeping when they have sore throats, are congested, and are coughing.  We escaped this winter without too much nighttime trouble, but there were definitely a couple of nights where this Hyland’s Nighttime Cold ‘n Cough 4 Kids was a lifesaver!

Hylands Nighttime ColdnCough

I don’t like to take medicine myself, and I definitely don’t like to give it to my kids unless it’s absolutely necessary.  But for nights when their noses are stuffy and they are coughing so much they can’t sleep, I don’t hesitate to give them this homeopathic medicine.  According to Hyland’s, it is safe and effective for children ages 2 and up, 100% natural, and it offers multi-symptom relief.  This nighttime version also offers ingredients to promote restful sleep, without morning grogginess or sedation like other medicines.

Last winter, my oldest was coughing so bad one night that I caved and gave her some ‘standard’ children’s cough medicine.  It didn’t do a dang thing.  The next night I gave her the Hyland’s, and she didn’t wake up once.

Since then, I make sure I have a bottle on hand at all times, especially through the winter!  You can give them a dose every 4 hours, and there have been a couple times they’ve waken up after the 4 hours coughing.  I give them another dose, and they fall right back asleep without coughing.

Adults can take this as well!  One night I was super stuffy, and I don’t do well with many OTC medicines.  I decided to give this a try in the adult dose (3 tsp instead of 1 tsp), and I literally felt my nose clear up!  It was the weirdest thing!  So I can personally attest that this has worked for us!

I used to only be able to find this at Whole Foods, but then I discovered some (but not all) CVS stores stock it as well!  I love this stuff and have turned a few people on to it, all who have said it’s worked for them as well.

I’m so glad you posted this! More importantly I’m so glad you told me about this medicine earlier this year because we LOVE it!!! We used it for the first time this winter and it was amazing. Sienna had a nasty cough and was up all night. So the next day we bought this, gave it to her and she didn’t wake up once!!! And I tried it to….not only does it work, it tastes delicious! :) Thanks for sharing!

We love this stuff too! We actually used it a few nights last week with Cole and needless too say there was no night waking and his congestion seemed minimal! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this stuff! The only bad part is having to wait until your child is 2 years old to use it!

So proud of you girls!! Can’t wait to see what’s next!!! Your right, this stuff is amazing!! I haven’t tried Hylands night time, only the hylands honey cough syrup. It was the only thing I could find in the pharmacy for my two year old. And it’s natural!!!

I haven’t tried the Hylands night time, but we use the Hylands honey cough syrup. Your right, it’s amazing!! I kinda stumbled across it accidentally because it was the only thing the pharmacy had that I could give my two year old. And you can buy it at CVS. So proud of you girls! Can’t wait to see what’s next!!!

      Hi Josefina!
I can’t say I’ve ever seen an expiration date on the Hyland’s Cold ‘n Cough! I’m really not sure! Perhaps you could try contacting Hyland’s customer service, that’s probably what I’d do next. :)

Can anyone give me dosage information for the nighttime cough and cold for kids? I threw the box out and can’t find it anywhere on the bottle. Thanks.

    • Angie says:

My box is thrown out, too… I think the dosage is also on the back of the bottle? I would check Hyland’s website or call their customer service if for some reason the dosage is not on your bottle. :)
